Integrating math concepts into other subjects is a simple way to make math more accessible and relevant to students - and even increase instruction time. In this session, you'll experience three, detailed hands-on lessons that integrate 8th grade US History standards and CCSS math standards.

Lesson topics include: 1) Predict body size of different groups of Paleo-Americans by measuring their bones, 2) Predict current and future ethnic population trends by analyzing immigration patterns of the New World, and 3) Solve map making dilemmas encountered by explorers such as Lewis and Clark.

You'll solve the lessons, leave with lesson plans and become inspired to develop your own interdisciplinary lessons in your school!
