Standards of Mathematical Practices and Growth Mindset FULL

Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

This popular Master Class is being offered twice. This session is nearly full, but space is still available in the session offered on Saturday at 12:55 pm.

Together we will engage in a deep analysis of the 8 Standards for Mathematical Practice (SMP) and create a list of observable factors for each practice from the student and teacher perspectives. We will then identify which of the SMP's lend themselves to developing the Growth Mindset. Finally, we will take our analysis and apply it to redesigning to include the observable factors we created and ramping it up to include teaching students to have a growth mindset in math class. As part of connecting the SMP's to the Growth Mindset we will discuss and craft different types of probing questions for students and teachers to ask to specifically promote each SMP in such a way that it also encourages a Growth Mindset in the classroom.
