Far to often, we are finding that many activities for the math classroom fail to provide the rigor of experience and interpretation that is required for the common core standards.

In this session, we'll explore a unit on proportional reasoning that we developed as part of an Achieve the Core Writing Jam, in an effort to provide students with activities that help develop proportional reasoning skills and experience the rigor needed to meet the standards. We'll walk through the entire unit, including pre-assement, four different hands-on experiments, independent practice and a final test. Supports for differentiation and remediation are included throughout.
