Tangerine: An Interdisciplinary Math Story Project FILLING

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity filling up

Tangerine is a 7th grade reading novel that has become the focus for a whole team math story project developed for the STEM Academy at Sutter Middle School in Fulton, CA. This interdisciplinary team created a math story project, with focal points for activities in English, science, social studies and technology. The math teacher incorporated standards, assessments and immediate feedback through the use of technology in the story project.

Tangerine is a first year project with no shortage on enthusiasm, high expectations, comradarie and fun. In this session, we'll share anecdotes and artifacts from the project, while providing practical details on project planning, implementation with the students, student outcomes and unexpected pitfalls that you'll find helpful as you consider developing your own story-project based approaches.

This featured session is being offered twice. Please only add one of the two sessions to your schedule.

I have been a middle school principal at Sutter for ten years. I get excited about engagement for students. I attended MSM last year to find out more. I immediately began working on "how do I do this for my kids". I love my job.
