Welcome to the 2016 MidSchoolMath National Conference!

Session scheduling is limited to registered attendees - all attendees should receive schedule access via email by Jan. 4 or within two business days of registering. Click on the "More Information" link for detailed directions on accessing SCHED and signing up for concurrent sessions.

Programming begins each morning at 8:15 am sharp, ending at 4:30 pm on Friday, followed by a social hour from 5:00 - 6:30 pm; and ends at 4:15 pm on Saturday.

James Taylor runs the Teachers' Circle of Santa Fe, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He retired after 21 years at Santa Fe Preparatory School as Computer Department Chair, computer/computational science and mathematics teacher, as well as Director of Technology. He has been working with math circles for students and teachers since an early 2005 tour of math circles in the San Francisco bay area, and has had an interest in provocative and subversive mathematics education much longer. James has taught many years of courses in mathematical problem solving at both the middle and high school levels, and has mentored teachers in circle approaches in the upper elementary school grades. His work is supported by the American Institute of Mathematics, the National Association of Math Circles, the Mathematical Association of America, and the Santa Fe Preparatory School. He has also been involved for the last 18 years in teaching computational science and computer modeling in the US and Mexico. James’ math circle work has recently been reaching to the northern New Mexico Taos Pueblo and the Navajo Nation in eastern Arizona (at Diné College).
