Originally from Nebraska, I moved to Albuquerque in 1994 and have lived here ever since. I love participating in endurance activities including GORUCK, triathlon, and running. Graduate of UNM, I've taught in APS for 13 years and have taught middle school math for the last 3. I became fascinated with high altitude ballooning after seeing a youtube video a few years ago. I have helped the VHS and WMHS high altitude balloon programs launch and conducted two launches myself. I participated in the Research Experience for Teachers Program last summer where I worked under Tim Boyle at Sandia National Labs' Advanced Materials Lab. My work involved the synthesis of gallium diisopropyl phenol.
