Taos Academy Charter School
Instructor
Taos, NM
I'm a first-year teacher, but I've been in education for 5 years. I started as a High School Equivalency/GED prep instructor for the Northern New Mexico College HEP program in 2013. Then I began working on my Master's in Teaching and Learning and my teaching license in 2014, and I started working as an Educational Assistant at Taos Academy Charter School. I fell in love with Taos Academy, the staff, the students, and the blended learning environment. I'm interested in reading and writing; I teach ELA Enrichment to 7th and 8th graders, and I sponsor a chess club and a Reading and Writing club after school. I love to talk about these things, as well as using tech in education. I'm also interested in mental health, wellness, and stress management as I worked as a mental health case manager for five years prior to going into education.
